新思想中心

(This Project is Not Active now. )
In 1999 I took a trip to Southern China and fell in love with the place and a woman named Penny.
She was interested in building community and doing good things in the world as well.
So, we found an abandoned building and made plans to open a place called ‘The New Thought Center’ in ZhaoQing, GuangDong, China.
We would loan books, have free computers to use and address any issues facing the underserved in the area.
As it turned out, the facilities were not available and my money dried up quickly.
I had to begin teaching English to survive.
I learned just how the Chinese culture is so different from American culture and how incredibly difficult it was to avoid theft and scams there.
I didn’t find any altruism at all at the time.
