RoganQuest - Oct 2022

I thought it would be cool to talk to Joe Rogan.

After all, my project needed the exposure and he has huge reach.
Not only that, he constantly mentions how he doesn’t know the solution to the problems I know that the right community can solve.

Like inner city homelessness, crime, poverty and racism.

Violent and corrupt police and rampant fraud in social programs.

I thought I might fly to Austin Texas and pass out pamphlets and cards and try to approach him in a restaurant or a comedy club.

It became clear he would reject a request to chat.

He mentioned publicly that he only talks to people he wants to talk with.

I’d go there and look crazy. Like a stalker. He’d shut me down right away.

I decided that a direct hail Mary approach like that would backfire.

My takeaway was that the big boys and girls keep themselves isolated and won’t talk to someone. You have to get super lucky.

Even after trying to get through to hundreds of celebrities and internet influencers, no none - not one person of influence was willing to hear my idea.

I take comfort in the fact that this has nothing to do with the validity of community and even the best ideas are rarely heard and they die with their creator.
