EveryBudi in the Philippines - 2019

I met a lady online and went to visit her and her family in the Philippines.

Although the relationship didn't last, we were able to create some community temporarily near our home.

The children are terribly undernourished and the area was filled with people living in abject poverty.
Horrible corruption of an entitled leadership and landowners reigned.

We created Sunday events where the children would clean up the streets and we had some food afterward.

With a backward culture and extreme poverty everywhere, it was overwhelming to try to make a positive impact.

We probably helped about 25 children live a better life for just a few months.

One of the little girls introduced me to her uncle who sat on concrete in a mostly empty home.

There was blood next to him on the ground.

We were unable to help him and he died a few day after I met him.

My takeaway was that sometimes we need a lot of allies and resources if we want to create change in places like this.
