Bangladesh - 2018

I met my friend Roy at a function here in Thailand.

He’s an absolute expert at making a clothing factory as efficient as possible.

He’s done this in over a dozen countries all over the world.

His takeaway? The women are treated so poorly.

He wanted in 2018 to start his own factory in Bangladesh and treat the women at the sewing machines with respect and dignity.
We started a project called Dignity Syndicate. We worked on a fundraiser by pre-selling t-shirts. We didn’t sell more than 2.

It was frustrating.

Roy wrote a book that we have for sale now all about the rag trade.

Roy and I continue to work on making a better life for these women a reality.
